Do you have a food that reminds you of your childhood?
Mine is totally eggs in a hole!!
My dad used to make it, and would slather one side with honey!! Mmmmm honey!!
If you haven’t made it before there are instructions here!
Served with some soy yogurt, blueberries and granola!
Awesome breakfast!!
What’s your favourite childhood food memory?
Enjoy your weekend!!
I've been vegan for over a year, but eggs in a hole and honey sounds delish! I suppose I could make a veganized version...
ReplyDeleteMy favorite from my past is macaroni and cheese... closely followed by grilled cheese with tomato soup!

Great Q! One of the only things my parents could get me to eat was something they called "soupie," which consisted 1 packet of Lipton chicken noodle soup cooked with 1 packet of chicken ramen noodles, plus 1 beaten egg stirred in at the end. It was, um, a total sodium-bomb, and a terrible source of crappy carbs, but it got me to eat! I was beyond "picky" back then. :)
ReplyDeleteMy mom totally made these too! We call them Ducks in a Puddle! :)
ReplyDeletenever heard of eggs in a hole! sounds interesting!
ReplyDeletemy childhood food would have to be spaghetti sandwiches. yes..i was a carb loving child.
Cinnamon toast is mine! My son Max loves toad in the hole! It's such a fun breakfast. Yours looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteEgg in a hole reminds me of my childhood too! My dad would make it while we were camping. Chocolate chip cookies, potato soup, perogies and cinnamon buns also remind me of my childhood.
ReplyDeleteMy gram's slaw... I know, slaw. But, it was fabulous and homemade and GRAM made it. She served it with fried chicken and mashed potatoes and tapioca pudding with Oreos for dessert...
ReplyDeleteThe slaw recipe is here: http://lifeontheclothesline.wordpress.com/2011/06/10/grams-slaw/
Yum yum! I can't imagine what it would taste like with honey. What an interesting idea!
ReplyDeleteYUM!!! Mine has to be Sunday Breakfast or Christmas Breakfast which was always like french toast or pancakes.....if we had pancakes my mom would always make them into bear faces for us :)

Oh, so many childhood favourites! But one of the best was having chocolate chips in milk at bedtime! Soooo good...don't knock it till you try it, haha. Of course, now I don't do dairy milk (like you), if I can help it. But there's always almond milk. :)
