So as I was telling you guys, I did a smoothie class for my final day at my practicum!
I was working with a bunch of adults with special needs, and it was during their nutrition class.
I was a little worried, as the smoothies I made had some “questionable” ingredients such as spinach and beets!!
Here are the recipes! (sorry I didn’t get a chance to take more pictures!)
Creamsicle Smoothie
This is a dreamsicle, creamsicle delight!
* 1 peeled and frozen banana
* 1 orange (peeled)
* 1 tsp vanilla extract
* 1 -2 cups milk (regular, soy, almond, rice)
* 1 spoonful orange juice concentrate
Blend all ingredients together until smooth
Can add more milk if needed
Cake Batter Smoothie
Cake batter you can drink through a straw? YUMMY in my TUMMY!
* 2 peeled and frozen banana
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 1 teaspoon dried coconut (optional)
* 1 cup milk (regular, soy, almond, rice)
* 1 teaspoon chocolate protein powder, chocolate syrup or cocoa powder (optional)
* Colored sprinkles for a fun garnish!
Blend all ingredients together, except sprinkles – add sprinkles after blending for garnish.
Green Monster
Don’t be scared, this is a GOOD monster!
* 1 frozen banana
* 1 cup frozen mango (or any other frozen fruit)
* 1-2 cups milk or orange juice
* 2 HUGE handfuls of spinach (or more if you are feeling GREEN!)
Funky Monkey Smoothie
This smoothie will have you hanging from the trees like a MONKEY!
* 2 peeled and frozen bananas
* 1 tablespoon peanut butter
* 1 cup milk
* 1 tbsp chocolate protein powder, chocolate syrup or cocoa powder
Blend all ingredients together until smooth!
Pina Colada!
If you like pina coladas... and getting caught in the rain...
* 1 cup frozen pineapple
* 1 cup coconut milk
* 1 peeled and frozen banana
* 1 spoonful orange juice concentrate
* 1-2 cups milk
* (How about some spinach? I dare ya!)
Blend all ingredients until smooth!
Hot (Pink) Date
The beet will turn this smoothie the HOTTEST pink around!
* ¼ peeled beet
* 1 frozen banana
* 3 frozen strawberries
* 1-2 cups orange juice
* 1-2 dates for sweetness
Blend everything together until smooth!

What is your favorite smoothie recipe?
Awesome--- you're a girl after my own smoothie heart :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recipes and I'm thrilled that it went well!
I LOVE green smoothies. People always look at me like I am crazy when I tell them I add spinach to my smoothies. I look back at them like they are crazy for NOT trying it!
ReplyDeleteSO many awesome smoothie ideas! I can't get enough of smoothies. I have one (almost) every single day for breakfast, usually a green smoothie. My favorite blend is frozen strawberries and blueberries, bananas, chard (spinach when I can get it), yogurt, almond milk, and a scoop of peanut butter. SO GOOD.
ReplyDeleteYum! You are making me want to get out my blender which is amazing because I haven't used that thing in forever!
ReplyDeleteAll of those smoothies sound so good! I think I might have to make that green monster smoothie today.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I think I need to try the hot pink date. Sounds good and has a cute name. Sold!
Have a great day!
