As you’ve probably read/heard around in blog land, lots of people have been doing VLOG Accent Videos!! I just think it’s so much fun!!
This is my first video, so bare with me, it’s a little embarrassing to put my voice/face + messy living room/homework, but I know I enjoyed Karen’s so much, that I thought you might enjoy this one too!! I’m interested to hear your feedback?
Underneath you can see the list of words and questions I had to answer!! Feel free to do this yourself too!! I think the more people the better!
PS. Lance also makes his cameo, but the poor doggie has a cone on his head due to booo booo on his legs.
The words:
Aunt, Route, Wash, Oil, Theater, Iron, Salmon, Caramel, Fire, Water, Sure, Data, Ruin, Crayon, Toilet, New Orleans, Pecan, Both, Again, Probably, Spitting image, Alabama, Lawyer, Coupon, Mayonnaise, Syrup, Pajamas, Caught
The questions:
What is it called when you throw toilet paper on a house?
What is the bug that when you touch it, it curls into a ball?
What is the bubbly carbonated drink called?
What do you call gym shoes?
What do you say to address a group of people?
What do you call the kind of spider that has an oval-shaped body and extremely long legs?
What do you call your grandparents?
What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry groceries at the supermarket?
What do you call it when rain falls while the sun is shining?
What is the thing you change the TV channel with?
Ok… time to chime in… do I have an accent? Did I sound like you thought I’d sound!?
Do I say anything funny?
hahah I can’t wait to hear your responses!! And let me know if you do one, as I’d love to come check it out!!!

LOVE THIS! :)
ReplyDeleteLOL I loved this!!!!!!!!!!! :o)
ReplyDeleteI think you sounded totally normal. And actually pretty close to what I thought you might.
See, next time I come to the Island we'll have to get together and do this for real! lol
BTW - Lance is very cute!!!
We say things the same way :-)
ReplyDeleteI have watched a few of these, and it seems like Canadians say "Grandma, and Grandpa" but Americans say "Grandpa and Grandma" on the opposite order.
LOVE IT! You are definitely Canadian, lovely lady! ;) I'm going to try to get mine up today! :)
ReplyDeleteI say just about everything the same way as you, except New Orleans :) And, I call them runners, not running shoes!
ReplyDeleteLove love love hearing your accent and seeing your pretty face in video form. Please can you do more video posts?
ReplyDeleteLove this!
ReplyDeleteBeing from the South, I'd call things by different names.
You roll a house with TP.
That bug is a rolly-polly.
All carbonated drinks are Cokes.
Gym shoes are tennis shoes.
I'd say "Hey ya'll!"
The long legged spider would be a Granddaddy Long Legs.
My grandmother was Menaw.
You use a buggy at the grocery store.
If the sun is out while it is raining you say the Devil is beating his wife.
And the remote is also called the clicker.
It's so funny how different regions have different names for things!!
Thanks for the great dairy-free recipes - my daughter cannot have dairy and I'm always on the lookout for new recipes for her!
Thanks,
Niki
