Bikram Yoga!!

Hey guys,  here is the info regarding Bikram Yoga in CR!!  It was an email sent to me this morning.

To get on the email list email mimosa@bikramyogacampbellriver.com

Hi Everyone!

From all of your emails I know that you are eagerly awaiting the opening of Bikram Yoga Campbell River, and so are we!  Our projected opening date continues to be November 1st.   The studio is located at 922 Island Hwy (beside the Bargain Shop and across from the playground).  Just a few months ago,  the space was a shell without an entrance.  Now we have plumbing, heat ducts, showers, a door and windows, walls, lights, and some paint!  We are really looking forward to the flooring installation next week.  These are big steps towards bringing Bikram Yoga to you.

_________________________________________

There are 50 FOUNDING MEMBERSHIPS available.  We want to get a solid Bikram Yoga community started, and this seems like the best way to do it.  Here are all the details:

What?:  Founding Memberships at Bikram Yoga Campbell River.  These give you one year of unlimited yoga.  Come morning and night, every day, for the entire year.

How much?: $700 plus HST, for a total of $784.  You can pay by cash, debit, Visa, Mastercard, or personal cheque (payable to Campbell River Yoga Ltd).

Why is it a good deal?  Annual memberships regularly cost $1000 plus tax.  You will see sales in the future, but never at this price.  Also, if you renew continuously, you will always get this $700 per year deal.  You save a lot of money and we get to see you feel good and be healthy.

Who?:  This is for anyone who wants a regular Bikram Yoga practice.  If you can come 2+ times per week, an unlimited pass is the way to go.  If you’ve practiced Bikram Yoga before, great.  If you haven’t, congratulations!  Your life is about to change in the most wonderful ways!

When?: The first date of sales will be Friday October 8th between 3 and 5 pm.  The second date will be Sunday October 10th between 9:30 and 11:30 am.

Where?:  Our home.  2022 Sierra Drive (near Sequoia Springs golf club).  (Please come only during the sale hours, or email to arrange another time).

Sale details:  I anticipate that several of you may come at the same time, so please plan to be here for at least 15-20 minutes.  You will also need to complete and sign some forms at the time of purchase.

If we sell all 50 memberships on the first day, I will send out an email to that effect.  Likewise, if memberships do not sell out in these 2 days, I will plan another sale date.

Pass details:  Founders’ Memberships are non-transferable and non-refundable.  The pass will be activated on the first day that you attend class after your purchase.

_________________________________________

$10 for 10 days

In November, we will be offering an introductory offer of $10 for 10 days of yoga (that’s 10 consecutive days).  10 days is enough to change a life.

Cleaning exchange

We are looking for people interested in cleaning the studio in exchange for unlimited yoga.  This is a commitment of 1 evening or early morning per week.  Please email me for details.

If you have any questions, please send me an email directly.  Otherwise, I look forward to meeting you all in the coming days, and to practicing with you in the hot room.

Aloo Gobi Recipe!!

Hello lovelies!!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend!!!

I’m here with a TASTY recipe!!  But first…

For anyone living where I live… HOT YOGA is opening up here in November… I am so excited for it!!    I even tried hot yoga the other day (AKA Yoga in front of the fireplace), don’t laugh, it was SO hard…   and my muscles go stretched like CRAZY!!

I have been doing tons of yoga and LOVING it!!  And then today, I went for a run (first one in FOREVER) and I did pretty good, better than the last few times, so the YOGA is helping!!

______________________________

Ok… onto the recipe…  I don’t have any original pictures, as it was late and no more natural light left…  so I borrowed one!! :)

Without further Adoo… here is the Alooooo haha..

image <source>

Aloo Gobi.

  • 1 TBSP oil of choice
  • 1/2 head cauliflower
  • 3 TBSP curry powder
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 3 potatoes – unpeeled
  • Siriachi – to taste

In a large pot, heat oil and drop in cauliflower, stir fry until it’s a bit brown (this adds extra flavour)

Once cauliflower is a bit browned, add in curry powder and salt. Stir until cauliflower is coated with curry.

Add cut up potatoes (I diced mine, to make it cook quicker)

Cover with water.

Simmer until it becomes creamy looking and potatoes are cooked!

Add siriachi sauce to taste ( I used about 1 tsp) add cilantro if you like.

Give it a taste, you might need to add some more curry or salt, as the potatoes seems to suck up all the salt.

Serve over basmati rice!!

It was SO good…  Awesome for leftovers or to freeze!!

Hope you enjoy!!!!

Credit, where credit is due.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I put out a plea on facebook for a quick easy delicious desert, there were some great ideas, but I had already found my muse.

Then I went to one of my favourite bloggies, and found “Lemon Cashew Cheesecake”  oh my…   It’s RAW and VEGAN…

DSC_0451 Sorry the pictures are kind of dark… I made it at night…

DSC_0447 It tasted JUST like cheesecake… but a bit better…

It was amazing and will go into my “woo people” file of deserts…

Although, I have to figure out a different crust, as the people who ate it mentioned it was a bit heavy… (I made it a bit different than Averies)…

So you want this luscious recipe?

You have to go here to find it….

Enjoy, it was amazing!

Pssst

Hey guys!

So tomorrow marks the first day at school EEK!.   I’m trying to stay calm, but honestly, I’m scared to bits!!

So I am hoping you guys will understand that I might not be posting for awhile, until I get my schedule figured out.  I need to find a healthy balance between everything!!

I don’t want to loose any of my lovely/wonderful readers!

______________________________

On the WW note.  I am finding the program incredibly easy.  I am actually having a super hard time eating all my points every day. Today is my last day of the week, and I haven’t even touched my extra flex points, or activity points!

I think it might have something to do with eating pretty healthy already?

Here have been some of my yummy eats!

Quinoa Salad – Quinoa cooked in chicken broth – sooo good!

DSC_0437

My fav, Red Thai Curry!

DSC_0439 I find it easy to eat in the summer time, as there is so much yummy produce!   I got all this at our health food store for $20!

All the veggies are organic too!!

DSC_0435 Brown rice wraps, raw sauerkraut (YUM),  celery,  eggplant, lettuce, peppers & free run eggs!!

And of course all the goodies from my garden!

DSC_0169  I just pulled a zucchini out of my garden that was about a foot and a half long!!  CRAZY!   And I can hardly keep up with my kale!!

Anywhoo…  must get back to relaxing today!!  I’m trying my best to be ZEN about this whole back to school situation, as I know it will all be good & I’ll love it!!

JUST BREATHE & Relax

Peace1

More Than Just a Pretty Plate!

There once was a plate made of PALM

They were perfect when eating with Tom?

Good for the Earth, oh so GREEN

And they are pretty enough to be seen.

Haha… You have officially got a sneak peak into one of my hidden talents!!  j/k.

So Justin from Marx Foods recently sent me a set of these BEAUTIFUL Palm Plates to do a review on.

DSC_0441 Here are a few of their facts – besides being beautiful, they are DISPOSABLE, BIODEGRADABLE, COMPOSTABLE & STURDY

No trees were cut down to make these either.   “Freshly fallen, naturally discarded sheaths of the leaves of the Adaka palm tree are collected.  To be clear, these are not pulled off the tree, nor are any trees cut down, as this is a non-timber forest resource.  The trees naturally shed their old leaves, which are then picked up and put to good use.”  *Taken from their website.  Please click here to find out the other steps in making these.

Because they are not cookie cutter plates,  each one is different. DSC_0442

DSC_0445

To be honest, I haven’t eaten off these yet!!  Because they are so pretty, I just want to keep them for awesome blog photos!!  DSC_0447 I am super impressed by this product, because they are super sturdy, and could hold a lot of great food, as well after your big party, you can just toss them in your compost!  How awesome is that? DSC_0444

They come in many different shapes.  And of course you can order them online!!  (They also have forks, knives and spoons!)

Makes for a pretty guilt free BBQ!!!

Marx Foods also sells many other goodies, so check them out today!!   Thanks Justin, for this opportunity!

image

*I am not given any money to do this review, only free product, with no expectation of a good review.  My reviews will always be honest.

Have a great weekend, and I’ll be back tomorrow with a recap of yesterday and today’s eats!! :)

Day 1 & Bridesmaids Bouquets

Good morning!!

So my first day of WW went great!!  Here is what my menu looked like.

Breakfast

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 brown rice tortilla
  • 1tsp nooch
  • 2 huge handfuls of spinach
  • garlic powder

Lunch

  • 0 point veggie soup
  • 2 slices of toast
  • 2 tsp earth balance

Mmmm this soup was so good!! Basically it was whatever veggies I had and some chicken broth!  I used onion, garlic, mushrooms, carrots, zucchini, green cabbage, chicken broth and cajun spice.  Just before eating, I also added about a tsp of white miso.  DSC_0423 Dinner

  • 1 can salmon
  • 1tbsp mayo
  • cucumbers
  • 10 rice crackers

Snack

  • 1 cup almond milk (steamed)
  • 1 pump caramel syrup
  • 1 chai tea bag

All of this = 24 points, which is my daily total!

Do you guys want to see more of my daily menu plan?  I figured it would keep me more accountable!!

______________________________

Yesterday I also made all my bridesmaids bouquets!

DSC_0429

DSC_0425 DSC_0430 DSC_0431 They were INCREDIBLY easy to make, and cost less than $12 to make all 4!  Sure beats the $60 each the resort was going to charge!

If you want the instructions to make them, just let me know!

Also, I’m still on the hunt for tomatoe & zucchini recipes!!
