Happy Valentines Day!!!!!

It’s Valentine’s Day which means GIVEAWAY DAY!!

I was so filled with warm fuzzies reading all of your random acts of kindness comments.
Keep them going even though this contest is officially over!

I was going to do the random giveaway but there is one person that went WAY out of her way, to make a difference, I had to choose her!!

This is my post letting you know I sent 4 cards randomly yesterday!!!

Jolene randomly sent 4 beautiful cards, to random people she found in the phone book – Just imagine how much that will make those people’s day!!
You are the winner my dear!!  - please email me your address!!

Thank you for all your entries, you guys are amazing, keep the kindness going!

So Dave and I headed to Victoria this weekend to see Wilco in concert!

I had no idea who these guys were (other than Dave loved them) and they put on a great concert!!
It was a lot of fun, they are SO talented and it was awesome watching the guitarist on the left – as I told D, he is living his dream and you can tell!!

Other than that, we went to a really fun restaurant called JAPANESE VILLAGE!
They cook right in front of you!

The food was good… BUT  they slapped TONS of butter on to everything…  EVERYTHING…

I sat there in shock and then finally told them about my allergy, so they cooked my meal in the back.
It was a little sad, as everyone was done before I got my meal!

The experience was cool – but I was so shocked at the amount of butter that I got a little worried about eating here.
I ended up eating a lot of rice and a bit of my dinner – and then gave the rest to some homeless guys (Dave’s idea) later that evening!

Major warm fuzzies – I tell ya.
The guys were SO excited “WE GET TO EAT FANCY RESTARANT FOOD”
I might have teared up a bit!!

We had a great time in Victoria, if you ever get a chance to visit, you should it’s such a great little city!

It poured rain the whole time, so we grabbed an umbrella from the hotel, snuggled up under it and walked all over town!!
Just about to head out in the rain!!! IMG_0393

Have a beautiful Valentines Day with the love of your life, Whether that’s your hunny, your kids, your best friend, your dog or best yet yourself!!

  1. Ugh, I hate it when restaurants do that! I always asked for steamed veggies, no butter or oil. If I am at a Japanese or Chinese restaurant I just make sure they don't use butter. I let them use the oils, as I don't eat at those places often. But, I think the next time I go to my favorite Japanese place (DoMo), I am going to tell them to go light on the oil.

What a great, selfless deed that you did giving the homeless man your leftover food. :)

  3. I love Japanese Village, but definitely don't go there hoping for healthy! I never realized all the butter...just assumed it was oil. It's still fun to sit and watch the chef's though.

If you ever go there for a birthday, they will dress you up like a sumo wrestler. LOL.

    Happy V-day!

  6. :) I love Japanese Village but a couple of my other favorites are Noodle Box and Rebar :) Rebar is usually pretty good about that but they're a completely vegetarian restaurant which is also cool! It's so nice that you gave your leftovers to that homeless man. I'm so proud of you! I see a lot of people who are homeless that live in Victoria now that I live there... It's hard because home, I don't actually 'see' homeless people but I know they live there but when I'm away at school it's much more overt. :(

  7. Happy Valentine's Day! Sounds like you had an excellent time! Youd be surprised at the amount of fat these restaurants put in their food! You got to see it because it was being cooked in front of you but imagine the things you do not get to see!

  9. Aii, butter makes everything better...but not if you use truckloads of it! The place you went to, with the Japanese "showmen" is called teppanyaki...Hee hee. At least the homeless guy got a treat! :-)

  10. Oh Japanese Village & the rice/steak sauce combo... I love that place, and I totally block out the fact that it's so unhealthy.
    I don't go very often so it's defintely a treat :)
