Step by step Raw Energy Balls!

Hey guys, as promised yesterday I did a step by step raw energy ball line up!!
To try and convince you to make these if you haven’t already!!

First grab whatever ingredients you want – should include some kind of nut and soaked or Medjool dates.

My mix included raw almonds, raw cashes, maca powder, gogi berries, coconut, cacao nibs!

Put the nuts in the food processor and blend until powder (or a little chunky, that’s how I like mine)

Once they are all grinded, add the other ingredients (except dates)

Keep grinding until it has reached desired texture!

Add in dates

Then blend blend blend.  I had to add a few more dates and some agave.

Until it looks something like this!!

Then roll into whatever size or shape you want!

They are so full of good stuff, great for a snack anytime!

These flavors tasted really “earthy” all together,
which I thought was fine, but some other people didn’t love them!!

Remember what I said too, these take about 10 mins start to finish including clean up! So try them today!!

Lots more recipes over at Averies site!

A few other things too!

The ChicLife is having a bake sale for Haiti on January 27th, if you can volunteer to make something great, if not… make sure to bid on all the goodies (My peanut butter cups may or may not be making an appearance)

  4. Oh wow - those raw energy balls look DE LISH! I'll have to try them this week!

Found you the The Chic Life, I'm doing the bake sale too - Diana had such a great idea with this!

So happy to have found your blog. I just developed a lactose intolerance last year, so it's been challenging learning to live dairy free. At first, I thought it wouldn't be a big deal.... apparently I didn't realize how many things I eat actually HAVE dairy in them! Definitely a follower now :)

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

  14. These look great. Every time I scrolled down the pictures made these look better and better. We will definitely have to try these. I would like to see more rough amounts of what to use as I tend to throw in more of what I like and the first time through I would like to have a better idea of what it is suppose to taste like ;)

  22. While I was not sleeping last night I thought about making some protein bars JUST LIKE THIS. YOM.

  23. I really dig the protein ball concepts. A bar is usually too much for. I like to eat bits and bites. This looks interesting, but I need to figure out what maca powder is. Can you omit it?

  24. Congrats on making #3 of the Foodbuzz top 9 :)

  25. Just found your blog and I love this recipe! I'm a big fan of using dates so I'll have to give them a try. I'm also baking some granola for Diana's bake sale :) have a great day!

  26. I have made something similar to this before and have found that instead of using any Agave to moisten, adding one tablespoon of warm water at a time to the mixture can make them nice and doughy and easy to roll! And then no need for the sweetener!

  27. Those look like a tasty snack idea, thanks for the tip! :)

  28. Thank you SO MUCH for this! It really inspired me. A lot.

Last night I soaked some dates and this morning I made my own balls. They're so delicious, I started wondering where they'd been all my life...

    *swoon*

P.s. I went a bit crazy and use almonds, pepitas, cashews, raw cacao powder, dried goji berries & soaked medjool dates.

I ended up rolling half of them in dessicated coconut and the other half in a mixture of white sesame seeds & black chia seeds!

    Thanks again :)

  30. If you add a little coconut oil, it helps with prolonging shelf life as it's natural anti-oxidants keep em fresh longer. Not to mention coconut oil suppresses appetite and is an awesome source of energy.

  31. Adding some organic coconut oil provides healthy fatty acids and aids with shelf life also!
